７月４日は日本語能力試験でした。今回は初めて「新しい日本語能力試験」が行われました。この新しい試験は以前より漢字が少なくなったそうです。漢字が苦手な私にはとても有難いことでした。それに新スタイルの問題もありましたが、ちょっと面白い試験だと思いました。当日試験の３０分前に着いて、試験対する不安や緊張を同級生と話しました。試験に入って３時間の苦労の末、とうとう出てきました。この後も帰らずに構内で試験の色々な問題について答えを確認していた受験者を結構目にしました。さて、結果は９月までは出ませんが皆はうまくいったのでしょう。（REBECCA）

On July 4th we had the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. This was the first time that the "New Test" had been administered. Apparently, the new test contains less kanji questions than previous tests, which was good news for me. There were also a number of new style questions which I found a little interesting.
On the day, I arrived 30 minutes before the exam and exchanged feelings of apprehension with my classmates. We all went into the exam, and after 3 long hours we finally came out. Even well after the exam, there were many examinees who remained behind to check their answers to the exam questions.
Well, we won't know the result of the test until September, but I'm sure that everyone performed really well. (REBECCA)
